Terneuzen
Enjoy all that Zeeuws-Vlaanderen has to offer. Besides the peace, the sea and the beach in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, there is also plenty of cultural activities, on both the Dutch and Belgian sides of the border. If you are keen to absorb some culture and do a bit of shopping then the cities, Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges guarantee a successful day. Near the Churchill hotel you can explore Oud-Terneuzen. If you would prefer a day in the countryside, you can visit the nature development area in the Margarethapolder, near Terneuzen.
After all these outdoor activities, you can swim a few lengths in the indoor swimming pool and relax in the sauna at the other hotel, the Churchill hotel.
CYCLING AND WALKING
The polders of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen are perfect for lovely cycle rides. We recommend the ''Westerschelde Cycle Route Terneuzen-Perkpolder'' (42 km), during this tour you will enjoy the gorgeous panoramic views over the Western Scheldt. Our other hotel, the Churchill hotel is also the perfect starting point for a walk of about 25 minutes on the dyke towards the city center. A walk through Oud-Terneuzen, where the history can be read from the old houses and streets is a must. Via the App 'Fietsroutenetwerk' you can find several routes in the area, where the Churchill hotel can also be used as a starting point.
MUSEUMS
The School Museum in Oud-Terneuzen has a collection of stationery and other school items from the 19th and early 20th Century. In the impressive Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwerkerk you can learn all about the disastrous floods of 1953. You also get an idea of the Netherlands’ never-ending struggle to contain water levels. The Zeeland Maritime MuZEEum in Vlissingen is another interesting museum devoted to water and the sea. This beautiful museum shows you the eventful history of the province of Zeeland and what the sea means to the people of Zeeland. The Zeeuws Museum, located in an abbey in the heart of Middelburg, has an enormous Zeeland heritage collection.

The Scheldetheater is close to the hotel. Here you can see well-known theatre troupes perform productions for adults and children all year round.
